Valencia Marathon

This one arrived too late for last week’s Weekly Roundup. Katharine Collins and James Williams headed over to Spain last weekend for the Valencia Marathon.

Rogue Runs Night Race: Mallard’s Pike

The Rogue Runs Night Race series kicked off on Friday night in the Forest of Dean. Five club braved being chased down by wild boar with Sam taking 2nd place (he may get 1st place if he stops falling over or being hit by trees!). Special thanks goes out to Emma King by saving the day when Sam accidentally picked up Sian’s vest on the way to the race. Luckily Emma had a spare green vest!

This week’s PBs come courtesy of Lloyd Owen who finished sub-17 in 16:53, Stephen Price who finished in 22:15, Kevin Bradfield who finished in 22:18, Beth James who finished in 25:32, Gary Forsyth who finished in 27:20 and Joanne Kilby who finished in 32:31.

GLCL Blaise Castle

Saturday saw the third fixture in the Gwent League cross country season with a trip to Blaise Castle in Bristol.

Around 2 dozen club members made the trip across the border to earn the points that will hopefully keep both the men’s and women’s teams in the First Division.

A special shoutout to Tom who had a storming run. It was great witnessing him maintaining a great pace throughout and have such a great finish.

Van Down!

Poor Lee. He made it over to Blaise Castle only for the instantly noticeable van to break down. A call to the AA and a tow home meant he had to miss the race. Unfortunately for Lee, not only was he spotted on the motorway leaving Bristol, he was also spotted by Sarah Coote back in Wales! We’ve got eyes everywhere!
