Looking for a new route to run? Here is a selection of routes in the area (and some beyond) of varying distances. There is a mixture of terrain and difficulties. All routes are approximate so it’s best to assume that each route may be slightly longer.

Talybont Reservoir Loop [View Route]
An 11-mile loop of Talybont Reservoir. Involves some steep climbs particularly if you do the route anti-clockwise.
Up and Down the Wye Valley [View Route]
A 14-mile circular run heading north up the Wye Valley on the English side to Brockweir and back down the Welsh side via Tintern.

Aberdare to Abercynon [View Route]
A predominately off-road run from Aberdare to Abercynon. You can park at Abercynon and catch the train to Aberdare and then follow the route back to Abercynon via the Dare Valley Country Park.
Manmoel [View Route]
One of the club’s long Sunday runs. Starts and finishes at Parc Bryn Bach and heads out to Manmoel along the Sirhowy Valley Walk. A bit muddy in places but road shoes are fine. Total distance is between 14 and 15 miles.
‘All of the Malverns’ [View Route]
An out and back route that takes in nearly all of the Malvern Hills. It’s a tough trail run with a lot of ascent/descent.

Chepstow to Newport [View Route]
Follows the Wales Coast Path from Chepstow along the sea wall to Newport. A challenging distance of over 26 miles to the centre of Newport.
Sirhowy Valley Ridgeway Walk [View Route]
A challenging trail run taking in the entire 26 mile length of the Sirhowy Valley Ridgeway Walk. Can be done in either direction although south to north may be even more challenging.
