Cervia 10k Night Run

In preparation for Ironman Itlay, Mike Matthews took part in the Cervia 10k Night Run and was joined by Caroline to ensure that he didn’t overdo it 😉

There were four PBs to report including a big PB for Suzie. Marcus Smith finished in 21:45, Stephen George in 21:50, Suzie Tew in 22:39 and Martyn Powell in 22:45

There was a sea of red this week to help Arlene celebrate the big 50! Happy Birthday Arlene!

Steel Valley Triathlon and Neath Valley Triathlon

Ian Davies, Steve Hamer and Steven Phillips took part in the Steel Valley Triathon on Saturday with Ian finishing in 3rd place overall. Steve Hamer also competed in the Neath Valley Triathlon on Sunday.

Four Seasons Autumn

Katherine Williams was in Margam Park to finish off the Four Seasons Series from Infinity Running. Rebeccah Williams was also there attacking another 6 hour run.

Swansea 10k

The Swansea 10k took place this Sunday and was the 4th race in the Welsh Road Race Championships. As with each year, there was a big turnout from the Green Army with Social Secretary Laura doing a stellar job in organising a bus and space in a Spoons afterwards for celebratory drinks.

Harry was first home in a time of 33:14 followed by Lee Aherne who finished in 33:56. Nicola Jukes was the first female home for the club and was also 1st FV45 finishing in 39:43.

Well done to Brian and Ceri who both scored PBs and finished in under 50 minutes for the first time. Delphine also finished in under 50 minutes with a PB but not sure if that’s the first time she’s run under 50.

A huge well done to those that completed their first ever 10k after graduating from C25K and then continuing the training to prepare for this race. Hopefully they’ve well and truly caught the bug and will enlist in the Green Army in the near future.

Ironmen

Within the space of a week both Richard Price Jr and Mike Matthews completed the Ironman. Richard competed in Ironman Wales and beat his 2018 time by over 2 years. Mike competed in Ironman Italy Emilia-Romagna and finished in an excellent time of 11:13:38.
