UK Inter Counties Cross Country

Lauren Cooper Harry Davies Sam Lewis Jones and Hywel Diplock travelled to Loughborough for the UK Inter Counties Cross Country. The event incorporates the Cross Challenge and is used as a selection for the GB cross country team so it features many of the best runners in the country. Nicola Jukes and Jamie Parry were also selected but were unable to make it.

Lauren had a superb race finishing in an amazing 38th position.

parkrun

There were no PBs to report at the week’s parkrun but we do have a shiny new parkrun sign to greet runners!

GLCX XC: Glebelands

The last fixture in the GLCL 2018/19 XC season and it was a visit to a very windy, muddy and occasionally rainy Newport. Jamie Parry did us proud by finishing first and beating his nemesis Jeff Wherlock from Lliswerry Runners with a last second overtake.

Barcelona Marathon

James Thomas travelled to Spain for the Barcelona Marathon. A couple of issues knocked him off track for his targeted time but he still finished with a marathon PB with a time of 03:50:21.

Inspire Wales Trail 10

Dave Kempton was racing around the trails of Pontsticill for the new Inspire Wales Trail 10 event. There were two distances of 10K and 10 miles with Dave completing the 10 mile race.

Four Seasons Margam Park

Katherine Williams was in Margam on Sunday for the second race in the Four Seasons trail series.

Wildflower Duathlon

Stephen Williams, Nathan Harper, Del Tyler and Lee Phillips travelled to the National Botanic Garden Of Wales on Sunday for the Wildflower Duathlon. Stephen Williams took 2nd in his age category.

Sunday Runs

Sarah’s Ultra Training

Sarah Jeremiah mid-run pausing to ‘have a word with herself’. With St Illtyd’s ultra looming, it was important to get the miles in but it can be difficult when you’re not feeling it.

I’m Back! Sort of

After dealing with a Crohn’s flareup, abscesses in places you wouldn’t want an abscess, fistulas where you wouldn’t fistulas and having a new bum installed, I’m slowly getting back into running. The legs and lungs have had a bit of a shock this week but I’m sure the fitness will come back in no time. Aiming to get to a parkrun at PBB this month for the pacer event and then hopefully wear the Green Vest next month in Malta.

Malta Fat Club

A bit of a slow down this week with a 6lb gain but still 3st 7.25lb loss overall.
