Ian and Teresa Davies (Cambrai, France)

Brian Evans (South West Coast Path)

SSAFA 5K

Lee Aherne, Sam Lewis Jones and Sian Jones were in Cardiff on Wednesday evening for the fast and flat SSAFA 5K race. Lee Aherne finished in a fantastic time of 16:27, Sam Lewis Jones ran sub-17 for the first time finishing in 16:56 and Sian Jones ran her fastest 5K finishing in 21:19

NEWT Aquathlon

Rhianydd Evans, Damian Caswell, Andrew Gunter and James Williams competed in the third race in the Parc Bryn Bach Aquathlon Series on Thursday night. Well done to Rhianydd for completing her first aquathlon.

Cardiac 6

The Cardiac 6 was a great success this year with great weather meaning no free hypothermia. A total of 124 runners ran – the first time over 100 – and a total of £1,045 was raised for the North Gwent Cardiac Rehabilitation charity. Some very fast runners from MMRT competed with the Men’s record being smashed and the top for runners all beating it!

Tourists

Team Jolly on tour with their fan club!

Newbiggin-by-the-Sea

Wrexham

“Mostly trail through woodland, a tight out and back section and a single file path in parts but the best bit is saved for the end, the very well nicknamed ‘vomit hill’.”

Etna!

I know the Jones’ like a bit of parkrun tourism but they’ve taken it to the extreme with the Etna parkrun! Sam took first place with Sian taking third in what looks like a very friendly little parkrun. Later they couldn’t resist the challenge of running up Etna (or as far as they could get without a permit). It was a shame that they missed the Etna Trail race that took place the week before.

Magor 10K

Rain earlier in the morning stopped just as the race was beginning allowing for a dry but still warm 10K race around the Gwent Levels. The popular race featured Nicky Osman and Morgan and Rob Bennett who beat last year’s time by a huge 4 minutes!

Tenby 10K

The Lewis’, Matthews and Ethan Sayce were in Tenby for a windy 10k and luckily for them it was just a bit too far for the club paparazzi to travel. Ethan Sayce was first home for the club and Caroline scored a 4 minute PB.

Dorset Invader Weekend

Sam was in Dorset for the White Star Running Invader Weekend which featured a a weekend of racing, bling and the infamous Lovestation.

Sunday Runs

The planned Roman Run Recce was cancelled due to the bad weather but that didn’t stop some club members from braving the elements.

The Swift’s Soggy Canal Run

Dai’s 6 Miler Canal Run
