#BEiNVNCBL

Last weekend, and a little too late for last week’s roundup, Hannah Williams took part in the tough INVNCBL Race Series in Merthyr Mawr.

Louise Kirby Recognition

There was a cracking mention for Louise Kirby on the Welsh Masters Athletics website after an excellent performance at Lee Valley at the British (Masters) Indoor Championships. She was part of a strong team of 12 Welsh Masters Athletics Association members that came away with medals. The full report can be viewed here.

Blorenge Night Roundabout

Sarah Coote, Martin Chammings and David Smout attacked the Blorenge on Wednesday evening for the Welsh Fell Running Association-organised Blorenge Night Roundabout race. The race is 9.5k with 600m of ascent and made all the more fun by running it at night!

Vests on Tour

Daisy Evans was sunning it in Madeira with a rather large Cristiano Ronaldo sculpture.

EcoTrail de Paris 80k

I completed the EcoTrail de Paris 50-miler race on Saturday and it was a toughie! Billed as 92% trail, 8% road, I think they may have meant 92% mud, 8% not mud!

Limassol Marathon

There was no chance of the Limassol Marathon being cancelled due to bad weather! With temperatures in the low-20s, good weather is almost guaranteed. Mike Matthews who was already in Cyprus for triathlon training extended his stay to take in the marathon and Lydia Cawsey was running her first marathon for the Run Mummy Run crew.

TWAC Half Marathon

With the Weston super Half called off due to the snow rather than not run you could always run the TWAC Half which is what Bobbie Swift did. Just don’t ask about Bastard Hill and the hunt for the lost mobile phone!

Snowy Runs

With the Newport HM, San Domenico 10/20 and Taff Trail HM amongst others cancelled, it didn’t stop some heading out for marathon training runs.

Rachel and Richard (joined by Claire) took marathon training to the extreme by seeking out some deep snow. Poor Richard face planted the deepest of the snow but unfortunately wasn’t recorded for the Weekly Roundup.
