Two Beauties Out For 10k Around The Skirrid

Track Session

The first of the weekly track sessions took place on Monday and it’s great to see so many people participating.

RED January Update

It’s RED January and you’ve been out on the lash but you haven’t got your run in for the day so what do you do? If you’re Laura Hire, just head out for a run around the block at 2355 still dressed up!

parkrun

There were 6 PBs to report at PBB parkrun this week with Harry Davies finishing in an awesome 16:33, Andrew Meadows in 21:37, Andrew Marlog in 27:25, Dafydd Player in 27:59, Melanie Phillips in 31:16 and Arlene Fraser Osman in 36:29. Well done to everyone for forever improving your times through training, hard work not neglecting the core work!

Tourists

We had club members in Newport, Riverfront, Gnoll, Pontypool, Penallta, Merthyr and at Cwmbran Sam Lewis Jones and Shane Roberts took first and second place with Sian Jones taking first female in 7th position.

Lliswerry 8

A great turnout from the Green Army with over 30 green vests in attendance. Was great photographing everyone in the first and last mile of the race although I need to hide better if I’m going to get some gurning shots. Not sure how everyone did in terms of category positions but well done to Lauren Cooper for getting 2nd lady and Margrett Monk for 1st FV65 and 2nd FV60!

Even though there was no rain forecast, some went prepared juuust in case.

And poor Kevin Bradfield, I hope those Merthyr boys weren’t following him all the way around the course.

Prior to the this weekend’s race, a photograph of Sharon Newell appeared on Facebook from the 2015 Lliswerry 8 that was just begging to be Photoshopped!

Sunday Sugar Loaf Run

Sarah Lane Coote, Owen Davies and Sian Price joined Paul Grainger Jones and others for an early morning run up the Sugar Load. Looks like much fun was had!

Mike Matthews’ Half n’ Half

Mike Matthews was out early on Sunday morning for a very tasty looking 16 mile half road and half trail run. Looks like there were plenty of hills that would make Laura Hire grizzle!

Louise Kirby Selected For Wales

Well done to Louise Kirby for being selected to represent Wales at the British Masters Champs at Lee Valley, in March. Louise’s sprint finishes have become legendary at PBBRC and now has her just rewards being selected for the 4 x 200m Relay Team. Well done Louise! Another red vest for a PBBRC Member
