Wales Duathlon

Steve Hamer was in Penarth on Sunday morning for the Tough Runner UK Wales Duathlon which featured a 5k run followed by a 20k bike ride and another 5k run.

Reverse 10

There was an excellent result from the ever improving Hayley Jackson who took 2nd female at the Reverse 10 on Sunday. Around half way into the race Hayley was around 30 seconds or so behind 2nd place and had another female runner on her tail. She managed to catch the 2nd place female and finish 15 seconds ahead of her.

Dave’s Safety Pin Incident

Never take off your shorts when the paparazzi are around!

Offa’s Dyke 10K

There were some great results for the club at the Offa’s Dyke 10 race on Sunday. The race was a new shorter distance and the men (Sam, Darren and Haydn) took first Men’s Team, the women (Sian, Rebeccah and Laura) took 2nd Female Team, Haydn took 2nd MV50, Darren Kippest took 2nd MV45, Sian took 2nd Female (and 1st senior female) and Dai Smout took 1st VM70. Thanks to Lou Summers for the team photo and Stefanie Francis for the mid-race photos.

Eastnor Castle 7

The Swifts were in Eastnor for the Eastnor Castle 7  – ‘an undulating 7 miles rural course over footpaths, tracks and through woodland culminating in the ‘Orrible’ climb to the Obelisk!’ I’m not sure if the photo of Darren eating what looks like a burger was taken pre-, or post-race.

Margam Pursuit 10K

The Carters were in Margam Park for the Margam Pursuit 10K and it was Ruth’s first race since October. She completed the hilly course in 57 minutes.

Arona 10K
