Rogue Runs Night Race 4

Thursday saw the last in the Rogue Runs Night Race Series and after coming second, fourth and fourth in the last three races, Sam Lewis Jones took the win! Well done also to Melissa Pearce for taking 1st FV45. If you haven’t run a nice race before I can highly recommend the Rogue Run night series. It’s cheap and great fun.

parkrun

This week saw the introduction of our new Pacer Event which should be every month during the spring and summer months. It was a big success with 12 PBs for club members and more for other runners.

Club members scoring a PB were Robert King 19:37, Ian Davies 20:36, Joanna Taylor Summerfield 20:37, Hayley Jackson 21:58, Cerys Swift 23:42, Jade Knight 24:47, Harry Jackson 27:21, Patrick O’Leary 28:13, Cath Cross 30:19, Julie Parry-Bishop 31:47, Sally-Ann Morgan 31:59 and Maggie James 33:27.

That may well be Lee slowing him down.

Who needs to run a 22 minute parkrun when you can just skip straight from 23 minutes to sub 22 minute! And in true Hayley style she was smiling all the way!

Cardiff Bay Run

The only big race this weekend was the Cardiff Bay Run 10K race and there was a great turnout from the club. Tom Webb ran his first ever 10K with the aim of getting sub-40 and finished in 38:21 and there were numerous other PBs including Ethan Sayce, Martin Thomas, Steven Hamer and Stephen Price.

Harry Davies was the first Green Army across the finish line in 33:35 and close behind was Lee Aherne who was first in the M50 category and as it’s a Welsh Championships race I presume will receive a gold medal.

Sam was in Dare Country Park in Aberdare this weekend for a series of CaniX canicross races with Mabli. Sam was using the races as training for running for Canicross Welsh team at Pembrey at Easter.
