Vests on Tour
Myanmar
Bansko, Bulgaria
Even though it’s -16C, you would have thought the Chief would have taken one for the team and worn the famous Green Vest, especially as the Ski World Cup was on!
parkrun
There was one PB to report at parkrin this week. Well done Maggie James running 34:03. That’s 3 mins and 4 seconds quicker than her first run just 4 months ago and a 57 seconds quicker than her old PB set last week.
Edit: Laura has pointed out there was an issue with Caroline Matthew’s barcode being scanned and the results have been updated accordingly. She scored a big PB by knocking off 28 seconds of her previous best!

115th Welsh Cross Country Championships
The 115th Welsh Cross Country Championships took place in Pembrey on Saturday and we had a good turnout from both the men and the women. Both the men’s and women’s races feature elite athletes but like last year we came away with a number of awards in various age categories.
Sooper Cooper
In Swansea last year, Lauren finished in 9th position and was keen to improve on it. She’s been running so well lately and ran a stormer of a race finishing in an outstanding 5th position!

Pontypool 10k Home Run
17 club members were in a sunny Pontypool on Sunday morning for the annual Pontypool 10K Home Run in aid of St David’s Hospice. There were some cracking runs from members including Beth Jones and Martyn Powell who both scored PBs.
Awards
Jamie Parry and Nicola Jukes both had cracking races with Jamie Parry holding joint first position for the first third or so of the race but Fairwater’s Michael Lewis pulled away on the hill up to the Star in Mamhilad and Jamie couldn’t catch up with him. Nursing a cold, Nicola still kept up with Brecon’s Donna Morris and finished only 6 seconds behind her.
