Weekly Roundup, February 4th – February 9th
Farewell Adam Roberts
Yesterday’s GLXC fixture was Adam Roberts last race with us before heading off to the Falklands for 6 months and then onto Anglesey.
Here’s a message from our Chairman:-
Unfortunately for us, Adam is being sent to the Falklands by the RAF for a 6 month stint following which he is being restationed to Anglesey. Whilst Adam is disappointed to be leaving PBBRC, its a good move for him as his wife is from Anglesey.
Hopefully Adam will be given another stint in South Wales in the future and would be welcome with open arms back at PBBRC so keep onto that vest!
I am actually gutted that Adam is leaving, not only because he is a fantastic runner and has played a major part in our success the past couple of years, but he is also a very, very nice bloke and has proven a very popular Club Member.
Adam, Bon voyage and good luck for the future from all at PBBRC!
Thanks to Paul Stillman for cracking photos that he took of Adam at the cross country.

Rogue Runs Night Race Series: Chepstow
The Rogue Runs Night Race Series continues with the third race taking place at Chepstow Race Course. Sam Lewis Jones took second place and it may well have been the first time that he didn’t fall down during the race! Thanks to Tosh Simpkin for the awesome photo below.
parkrun
With many runners at the GLXC in Pontypool or Hoka Winter Trail Half there was only one PB to report this week which was Sall Ann-Morgan who scored two in two weeks finishing in 32:52.

Hoka Winter Trail Half Marathon
Some brave club members attacked the hilltastic Hoka Winter Trail Half Marathon on Saturday. There were plenty of hills throughout including the ‘sting in the tail’ hill at the end. Well done to Liz Carpenter-Davies for pushing through the pain (aided by Suzie) to make it to the finish line for doughnuts!
Gwent League Cross Country: Pontypool
The Gwent League Cross Country was back for the first fixture in 2019 and the hilly Pontypool was the venue. Storm Eric passed through on Friday but the tail of it was still causing strong winds and some rain, particularly during the women’s race.

Llanelli Half Marathon
Nicky Morgan, Ian Kent and James Thomas travelled to west Wales for the Llanelli Half Marathon on Sunday. Well done to Ian Kent who, I think, scored a half marathon PB finishing in 01:30:03!
Got something to say?
