Rogue Runs Night Race Series: Cannop

The second race in the night series and it was back to the Forest of Dean for another fun run around the woods. Sam Lewis Jones, who finished in 4th position, as joined by Martin Chammings, Melissa Pearce, Rebeccah Williams, Marcus Smith, Suzie Tew and Laura Hire.

There were 4 PBs to report this week with Ethan Sayce running under 20 minutes for the first time finishing in 19:59, Sarah Bees finishing in 30:04, Sally-Ann Morgan who finished in 33:55 and Maggie James who only joined the club a couple of hours after completing the parkrun in 35:16.

The Buff Wales Trail 10K

Martyn Powell, Suzanne Court, Lee-Anne Taylor and Lee Wilce were at Bryn Bettws Lodge in the Afan Forest for the Buff Wales Trail 10K on Saturday.


Riverbank Rollick

Melissa Pearce, Delphine Jones, Zowie Tovey-Shaw and Hayley Edwards hopped across the border on Sunday for sell-out Riverbank Rollick in Thornbury. The race features mud, hills, a stream and a a mile or so stretch along the River Severn. The 10-ish-mile race sold out in 48 hours this year so if you’re interested in running it next year, make sure you get in early.

Sian McGoldrick, Suzanne Court and Owain Williams tackled the Grim Reaper Mynydd Llangors race on Sunday with it’s 946 feet ascent of the course of 5K. The photo was taken pre-race but they all survived!

Alison Holton’s baptism of mud at her first cross country for the club in January 2015. It was also Andrew Jones’ first XC and Rachel Lewis remembers it well – “Nic broke her foot, Tony tore his soleus muscle, Rhi Giff lost her shoes, I remember that XC well”.
