Wolf Run: Winter Wolf

Owen and Daisy took part in the Wolf Run: Winter Wolf last weekend and like every other Wolf Run it was wet and muddy. “Relentless amount of freezing cold water obstacles, including swimming the Avon. Fun but a test of willpower.”

Well done to Daisy for finishing 3rd female!

Severn Bridge Night Race

The very popular (so popular it’s been split into two races) Severn Bridge Night Race took place this week and the Green Army were there for the fast race out to England and back. Thanks to Tosh Simpkin for taking the awesome photos.

Funked Up Friday (On a Tuesday)

A number of club members joined the First Strides bunch for a special training session in aid of Rebecca Cooksey and Family. The atrocious conditions didn’t prevent everyone from dressing up and raising £40.

Message from Sergeant  Phillips

*****************TAKE A BOW! ***************

I am so proud of this fantastic group of runners we have at First Strides. Firstly, just turning up in this atrocious weather is fab but to see everyone of you embrace and support the Funked up Friday theme in honour of the wonderful Cooksey family too just makes me beam. Thank you!

Then off on the run and seeing you all attack the dark, cold, wet bypass and march up Sirhowy hill and then a number of you taking on the extra challenge and mileage of the college triangle too. Excellent work ☺️☺️

There were leaders, helpers, volunteers, old members rejoining (????)and new members returning and most of all there were a whole bunch of friends, out for a run, and a chat, in the rain, together.

Just a few of the things right there that makes me love this club and the people in it. I’m so proud of the progress you have all made and continue to make and can’t wait to see you all get fitter and faster. As long as I’m able too, I’ll be there to watch and help with your progress. ……….Even if you swear at me ???? and call me names ????????.

Thanks to all the helpers tonight – I won’t name anyone in particular because we all did a great job for each other tonight. Same time next week ????. #strongertogether #teamworkmakesthedreamwork #runderful

Sarge out.
