Obligatory Kit Shots

The night before the big day there were were a number of kit shots being posted from the Leigh-Anne Vowles’ very clinical shot…

…to ‘every OCD’s worst nightmare shot’ posted by Darren Kippest.

And poor Richard Sheehy got a ribbing for missing a bit when ironing his vest.

The Big Race

There were some stunning performances today with a number of PBs including Kim Price knocking 5 minutes off her Swansea HM PB, Lucy-Atkin Smith knocking 21 minutes off her Bournemouth PB and Rachel Lewis knocking off 4 minutes. In addition, Rob Bennett, Stephen Dallow, Sarah Bayton, Lisa Cook and Huw Steadman also recorded PBs. Apologies to those that also recorded a PB but I’ve missed off.

Thanks to Paul Grainger for the photos.

Lee Aherne: First Green Vest Home

A huge congratulations to Lee Aherne who was the first Green Vest home in a stunning time of 01:13:54! He took 1st place in his age category and may also have taken the fastest half marathon time in his age category this year beating the current best by 4 seconds.

The Final Hill

The last hill of the race was a toughie with some running but most power walking up it.

But despite the pain, some put on a brave face!

Post-Race Cool Down

Peter Hire was unfortunate to have a puncture on the way to the race so post-race was spent helping him change his wheel. We did ask the ladies for a hand but they just wound their windows up and drove off!

Coombe Hill Boer War Memorial

Whilst away for work, Stephen Carter squeezed in a run to the Coombe Hill Boer War Memorial and it looked like a stunning place to run.
