Castle Combe Summer Chilly Duathlon

Steve Hamer was at Castle Combe on Wednesday for the Summer Chilly Duathlon which consists of a 2 mile run followed by a 10 mile bike ride and finished with another 2 mile run.

There were 6 PBs to report at a wet Bryn Bach parkrun this week. Well done to Roger Freeman for finishing in 21:30, Brain Wiles in 21:39, Kim Price in 22:28, Kam Panesar in 26:50, Beth James in 26:53 and Nicola Lewis in 27:41.

Dare 12

The inaugural Dare 12 running festival took place on Saturday in the Dare Valley near Aberdare. The format consists of running as many 8K loops as you can in 12 hours either solo, with a partner or within a team. This is a race I would loved to have participated in and it was great that Rebeccah and Mark Williams took part so will be able to let us know all about it.

Mark and Rebeccah did outstanding completing 12 x 8K laps (6 each) in 10hr 34min 21sec taking 1st place in the mixed pairs. And as it was a a new race their time is a new course record!


Velindre Castle 2 Castle

Well done to our Green Army who were out supporting Velindre Cancer Centre for their annual Castle 2 Castle run. It’s a well supported run that follows the Taff Trail between Caerphily and Cardiff Castles.


Great North Run

The Hires, Alison Stevens, Marcus Smith and Katherine Williams were in Newcastle Upon Tyne of Sunday for the world’s biggest half marathon – The Great North Run.

Celebrities Eager to Get a Photo with a Green Army Club Member

As soon as word got around that the Green Army was in town, Paula, Kathrine and Mo were eager to get a selfie with a club member.


White Star Running Crazy Fox Weekend

Sam Standerwick was in Dorset this weekend for the White Star Running Crazy Fox Weekend. She participated in the tough trail half marathon – “Only HM I’ve done tougher than that involved climbing Snowdon! Loved it though!”. It was also the first opportunity to take out the newly blinged out van to a race.


Saundersfoot Triathlon

Marc Bloomfield, Jonathon Astley, Andrew Gunter and James Williams all participated in the Saundersfoot Triathlon on Saturday. Marc Bloomfield did outstanding finishing in 4th position just 2 seconds behind 3rd place and only 1 minute behind 1st position! Full results here.


Chippenham Half Marathon

Kathryn Price was flying the flag for the Green Army at this year’s Chippenham Half Marathon.

Kapow! Superhero Challenge

Some club members donned their superhero gear on a wet Saturday morning for the Kapow! Superhero Challenge in aid of Hospice of the Valleys. It featured an obstacle course and a 5K run around the lake.
