Weekly Roundup, April 2nd – April 8th
Gilwern Grunt
Heavy rain and a bit of snow didn’t deter Richard Sheehy, Kevin Hale, Laura Hire and Terry Vaughan from attacking the Gilwern Grunt. Thigh deep water and slippery slopes made the course even more challenging than usual and in the interest of safety the course was slightly shortened.
Laura: I BLOODY LOVED IT! Even loved the part where I fell in a puddle that was chest deep, then fell in the sister puddle that was possibly deeper lol. Even the sliding down the mountain on my butt was fun.

Vests on Tour
Katherine Williams is currently touring Jordan and her green vest was with her on a trip to Al-Khazneh (The Treasury) in Petra. Wonder if she’ll be back for the Petra Marathon/Half Marathon?
The Jones’, Jones’ and Lewis’ have been out skiing in Auris, Alpe d’Huez, France this week and they all knew the drill about taking PBB kit with them although I may have to Photoshop a vest on Rhys to make the photo look complete.
Katherine ended her trip to Jordan by floating in the Dead Sea (with her Green Vest of course!)
Sunny Runs
Spring was finally here this week with warmer temperatures which meant running selfies in the sun. Richard Price Jr used the opportunity to go for a run up Pen y Fan (whilst avoiding the crowds).
Unfortunately for Kevin Hale, the day he went up visibility was so poor he had to abort.
parkrun
There was one PB to report at PBB this week with Adrian John Markey scoring another run finishing in 24:19.
parkrun Tourists
Roger Freeman was down south at the Seaton parkrun with it’s start/finish on a pebble beach and the Marlogs were in Hackworth parkrun which with over 190ft of elevation is a lot steeper than PBB.
Sugar Loaf Fell Race
Kevin Hale was flying the flag for the Green Army at the tough Sugar Loaf Fell Race on Saturday. Sharon Woods and Terry Vaughan also participated running in Mynydd Du vests. (Photos below courtesy of Andrew Price)
Ras Dewi Sant Coastal Path Marathon
Originally planned for the weekend before Mike ran the Limassol Marathon but cancelled due to snow, the Ras Dewi Sant Coastal Trail Marathon took place on Saturday. The usually tough race didn’t disappoint and delivered plenty of mud to trudge through. Mike finished in a shade over 5 hours.
Ras Dewi Sant Coastal Path 10k
Whilst Mike was making his way around the rugged Wales Coast Path, Caroline killed the time by participating in the 10k. She did great, especially as she was running along a tough trail alone.
Kymin Dash
A great turnout from the Green Army at this year’s Kymin Dash with over two dozen running. There were plenty of PBs with some knocking as much as 6 minutes off previous times. Sam Lewis Jones finished second overall behind a very strong, and course record holder, Huw Evans of Les Croupiers, and Kath Jervis got a shock when she discovered she had won 1st FV60.
2nd Overall
1st FV60

Hereford Duathlon
Mr Jolly, Cyril and Laughing Boy competed in the Hereford Duathlon on Sunday which was a 4.6 mile run followed by a 17 mile bike ride followed by a 2.4 mile run.
Got something to say?
