Rose Inn Series 2017: Race 3
The third race in the Rose Inn Series and another strong turnout from the Green Army. The first two races in the series were hot and sunny so made conditions a bit tough to run in but tonight’s race was quite the opposite with cooler temperature, rain and mud (not just in the ‘car park’).
23 club members braved the rain with more top results with some age category placings, Lee Aherne getting a course record and the Ladies Team coming first for the third time in a row.
Every member did the club proud by either standing in the rain waiting for every runner to finish or running back out to help those that needed a final push in the last few hundred yards. In addition, we had the support from the likes of Peter Jackson and Rhiannon Lewis.
Honours
The ladies did us proud by coming first for a third time in a row! Congratulations Lauren Cooper, Nicola Jukes and Danielle Phillips.
Birthday boy Lee Aherne came first in his age category and broke his own MV50 record by 5 seconds with a time of 21:20.
