GLCL Road Series: Pontypool
The fourth race in the GLCL Road Series and another fantastic turnout from the Green Army. A total of 65 runners (39 men/26 women) headed to Pontypool Park for the 6 mile race following the same route as the Pontypool 10k Home Run.
Everyone clearly responded to the the captain and chairman’s rally calls and threw everything they had at the race with some outstanding results with 4 runners featuring in the top 10 including Lee Aherne in 1st, Sam Lewis Jones in 3rd and Jamie Parry in 5th.
Terry Watkins finished 10th and Stephen Williams came 3rd in his age category. Despite sickness, Lauren Cooper couldn’t resist the urge to run and came in 1st to secure 1st female overall for the series.
There were also plenty of PBs to report including Sam Jackson and Caroline Matthews.

A special well done to those that ran their first GLCL race including Suzie Tew and Richard Price. Thankfully they weren’t put off and will be back for future races.

We Know How to Camaraderie Right!
In true PBBRC style, a huge number of runners stayed to cheer in ALL of our runners. It’s so important that as soon as you finish you head back out there to cheer on each and every runner and encourage them to try as hard as they can to run right to the finish and bag crucial points.
