La Sympathique 10K

Whilst holidaying in France, Rhianydd Evans stumbled upon a race and thought it would be rude not to enter. She took part in the La Sympathique 10k in Vairé.

Rose Inn Series: Race 4

The fourth and final race in the 2018 Rose Inn Series took place on Tuesday and 26 club members competed. Sian Price finished overall 3rd SW for the series.

Just one PB to report this week with Suzie Tew finishing in 26:11.

After parkrun, a clueless Sam Lewis Jones was presented with a cake for his birthday which also included a ticket to Australia. At first he didn’t clock the fact that cake was Australian themed and totally missed the ticket attached to the base. To say he was shocked that he was going to Australia that same day was an understatement.

Barry Epic Trail 10K

Mark and Rebeccah Williams were in Barry for the inaugural Barry Epic Trail 10K race on Saturday. They were using it as preparation for the Dare 12 hour race taking place in 3 weeks. Also running were Suzanne Court and Sian McGoldrick.

Race the Train

Julie Cashell and Sharon Woods travelled up to Tywyn, Mid Wales for Race the Train on Saturday. Results haven’t been published for the 10k race so not sure how well they got on against the train.

PBBRC Summer BBQ

Parc Cwm Darran 5 Miler

A total of 15 members took part in San Dom’s new ‘fast and flat’ race – the Parc Cwm Darran 5 Miler which was held in Parc Cwm Darran. A total of 89 runners took place and our ladies did the Green Army proud by winning the team prize. Lauren Cooper also came 2nd female, Rachel Lewis took 1st FV35-44 and Nicola Jukes took 1st FV45-54. Stephen Williams and Haydn Hartnell took 2nd and 3rd in their age categories respectively.

Richard Sheehy, Sam Lewis Jones, Marcus Smith and Tony Lewis were at the Mountain Air pub on Friday night for their infamous 35oz steaks. Little did Sam know he was there because Sian was still packing for his secret Australia trip! And with a time of 18:43 at parkrun the next day, the steak clearly weighed Sam down!

Congratulations to the Carters!

Congratulations to the Ruth and Stephen who tied the knot on Saturday! They even managed to squeeze in a pre-wedding run! It was a nice touch naming the tables at the wedding reception after the races they had run together.
